CIBER Novasoft Announces Center of Competence for Manufacturing Execution in Heidelberg, Germany

Integrated Plant Lab Features Demos of “Perfect Plant” Solutions, Including SAP® Applications for Manufacturing

Heidelberg, 08. January 2008. CIBER Novasoft, an SAP services partner, today announced the launch of a Center of Competence for integrated manufacturing solutions compliant with SAP® applications, with a focus on helping customers achieve the “perfect plant”. The center, located here in Heidelberg, Germany, has been established with support from the following partners: SAP AG, Stratus Technologies, Visiprise, Werum and Wonderware.

”We have established this new Center of Competence to help manufacturing customers optimize assets and increase production performance,” said José Iglesias, responsible for Business Development in the area of SAP application-based  manufacturing solutions at CIBER Novasoft. “By grouping together in one location industry-specific solutions as well as the know-how of the center members, we can help to achieve the individual requirements of manufacturing companies. Our main goal for customers is to help them implement standardized as well as service- and industry-oriented integrated solutions of the highest quality, helping them to build and achieve the perfect plant.”

Included in the Center of Competence is an Integrated Plant Lab, where CIBER Novasoft and its partners are able to demonstrate the potential of an optimal connection and synchronization of a production- and an ERP-system on the basis of application examples. In the future, completely integrated case studies will also be available, highlighting solutions from the pharmaceutical, discrete manufacturing and consumer products industries. The lab is located within the data centre of CIBER Novasoft and serves as a showroom. In addition, some examples of use cases are available via the Internet.

The SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP MII) composite application takes center stage within the Center of Competence, as well as other manufacturing-oriented SAP applications. SAP MII provides a direct connection between shop-floor systems and business operations. It ensures that all data that affects manufacturing is visible in real time – including information about orders, materials, equipment status, costs and product quality.
